Shlohmo, aka Henry Laufer brings a keen ear to the music he makes, using mostly found sound, fragile old gear and a laptop. In Shlohmo’s own words: “The album was made suuuper lo-fi, most recordings were done through the audio-in port on my laptop, field recordings with the laptop mic or my ipod mic/recorder. a lot of synth sounds came from my roland sh201 and my dad’s old roland jupiter 6, plugged straight into my laptop. all the noise was run from the headphone port out to these monitors that i’ve had since i was 14. the tweeters are all pushed in and there’s absolutely no audible low end, so i have to physically touch the woofer to feel the vibrations from the bass and master it that way haha.”

Friday 8 January 2010 will be the first Viral Radio of the new decade. In the new year, the Amsterdam vehicle for well tempered drum machines will investigate the musical identities of 6 cities that are part of the viral networks of experimental bass and beat music creation and distribution.

Theses cities are: 1. Amsterdam (January); 2. Glasgow (March); 3. Bristol (May); 4. London (August); 5. Sydney (October); 6. Los Angeles (December).

On the Amsterdam Edition local wonderboys of bleep hop Zwart Licht will perform live, with the support of their producers FS Green and Sir OJ. Viral Radio veteran Aardvarck – will join hosts Juha & Cinnaman to cover the spectrum of bleeps and bass in Amsterdam.

Viral Radio will continue to do regular events in the months in between, and radio shows every two weeks on VPRO’s 3voor12, bringing the next level in computated acoustic stimulants.

These two tracks from 2007/08 are/were a part of Dimlite’s aborted 3rd album «Prismic Valuta Rising».
They are now exclusively available for download on this page (dimlite.bandcamp.com).
Parts of named album will be released by Now-Again records in shape of the «Prismic Tops» EP in 2010, followed by an all-new album, later the same year.
